We always hope the doctors are mistaken when they predict our kids won't
live very long. In this instance, they were.
When a newborn is predicted by physicians to not live but manages to
survive and grow into an adult anyhow, it is a miracle.
Kennedie Jourdin-Bromley defied doctors by living so long despite the fact
that she is not yet an adult. Primordial dwarfism is the term for her
affliction. She was just 2.5 pounds and 11 inches tall when she was born.
Her mother was informed by the doctors that she would probably only have a
few days to live. Damage was done to a section of her brain.
She was affectionately referred to as "Thumbelina" while she was in the
hospital. "Thumbelina" is still alive today even though they didn't have
high hopes.
At the age of 12, Kennedie attempts to have as full a life as she can. She
also suffers learning impairments as a result of the brain disorder. Her
school, though, has been incredibly accommodating. They have decided to
offer her unique responsibilities that will help her succeed because of her
disability.
Because she likes to cook, they frequently offer her cooking duties.
She is really proud of her mum for enduring and fully embracing life. But
because she just doesn't know how long she will be with them, she finds it
difficult to deal with her daughter's illness.
Dwarves from the beginning live for no more than 20 years. It's a marvel
that she has lived for 12 years. Her mother anticipates her living for many
more years.
