105-year-old meets great-great-granddaughter for the first time as 5 generations meet

It's easy to forget to spend time with the people who matter most to us in today's hectic and distracting environment.

It goes without saying that maintaining positive ties with family members is crucial. After all, your family is often the group of people that will always be by your side.

Even still, it's regrettable that occasionally you choose not to schedule a visit with distant relatives.

Not the case with Annie Berry, who turned 105 in January 2019.

All FIVE generations of her family paid a recent visit to Barry at the Genesis Larkin Chase Center in Bowie, Maryland. It was time for Barry to officially welcome Olivia, her great-great-granddaughter, into her large family.

Berry chuckled and remarked that Olivia was "cute like Grandmama," according to WUSA9.

During a time when racism and segregation were pervasive in American history, Berry was born in Meridian, Mississippi, in 1914. She remembered plucking cotton and shelling maize when she was younger, and she has experienced various global changes.

Of course, Olivia will grow up in a very different environment than Berry did (which is unsurprising given their 105 year age gap).

Berry credits "obedience to the Lord" for her long life and gave infant Olivia a clear set of instructions: "I'd like for her to be nice and caring and do what mother says to do."

Annie Berry is surely deserving of attention and admiration. What a blessing it will be for Olivia to know that she got to meet her great-great-grandmother as she grows up!
