The worst scenario for every parent is for anything bad to happen to their
child. And if your child gets misplaced in some way, it is really
stressful!
Thankfully, while beginning as every parent's worst fear, this story had a
joyful ending!
On a typical Monday night, fear broke out in the Folsom neighborhood. Along
with their beloved golden retriever, two little girls were reported missing.
The girls had been last seen that day at approximately 5 o'clock.
Before things changed, 7-year-old Abigail Bourg and 4-year-old Cecilia
Bourg, together with their dog, had been seen close to their house. When
their parents discovered the girls were missing, they promptly called the
police.
An immediate search was launched for the three girls and their dog. After
their mother posted a frightened message on Facebook, which quickly spread
across the neighborhood, volunteers volunteered to go out and seek for the
little children.
In a statement, the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office urged locals not to enter
the forest since doing so may obstruct the official search for the young
children.
Fortunately, the girls were located the same day they went missing, at 9:20
p.m.
The sheriff's office issued a statement on social media shortly after the
children had been found safe and sound, saying, "We do not have any
information to give at this time, but we are very pleased to announce both
kids and their dog have been discovered and are okay." "We appreciate
everyone's assistance, especially the utilization of the helicopters by
Louisiana State Police and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office."
People were grateful for the girls' safe return to their homes once they
were recovered and felt relieved. Naturally, the parents of the girls were
the ones who were most relieved.
The STPSO said that a helicopter from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office
had been used in addition to drones, ATVs, and their K9 units in the hunt
for the kids.
Photographs were taken when the girls first saw their relieved parents. The
relief is clearly seen on their frightened parents' faces!
