31-year-old invites ailing 89-year-old neighbor to move in with him(4 photos)

How familiar is your neighbor with you? Could you invite them to your house if you don't know them well enough? How about offering them a place to live? 2013 saw the arrival of Chris Salvatore, who now lived across the hall from 85-year-old Norma Cook and her cat, Hermes. Although the two had always said hello, they quickly became friends when Salvatore introduced himself. 2013 saw the arrival of Chris Salvatore, who now lived across the hall from 85-year-old Norma Cook and her cat, Hermes. Although the two had always said hello, they quickly became friends when Salvatore introduced himself.

In fact, the 31-year-old actor Salvatore requested Norma to move in with him when she was near death and in need of continuous care since they had become such close friends.

When Norma turned eighty-nine, her health quickly deteriorated. Salvatore found out during Cook's hospital stay that she would require round-the-clock care before being permitted to go back home. She had no relatives nearby, no children of her own, and she was lost.

Salvatore created a GoFundMe page for Cook online. After putting a few caregivers to the test, the two closest friends came to the conclusion that the 31-year-old needed to take more action.

"Entering a facility was the sole alternative," he informed TODAY. "I simply couldn't harm someone who resembles my own grandmother in that way."

Cook received his invitation to live into his residence.

Salvatore said on GoFundMe, "I'm so happy I was able to give her this gift of living her last days at home." "I have no idea what it's like to die in a hospital by yourself, without the company of your loved ones."

It turned out that the two made great housemates.

Cook told TODAY, "We watch the news every day." "Mostly, we eat peanuts, drink champagne, and talk."

Cook sadly died away on February 15, 2017. Salvatore, who usually posted about the couple's travels on Instagram, broke the devastating news.

Salvatore described Cook as "the grandson she never had."
