Along with playing in many bands over the course of his musical career, Stewart has made a name for himself as a soloist. He has so far put out 32 studio albums, seven of which have peaked at No. 1 on the UK Albums Charts.

Among many more chart-toppers that went on to become classic successes, he is best known for his singles "Sailing," "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)," and "You're in My Heart (The Final Acclaim).

He was first admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.

Many would assume that a celebrity of that caliber wouldn't be working physically demanding or manual labor jobs any longer. Most of the time, individuals seek to celebrities to quickly fulfill their goals.

Stewart, however, did not bat an eye and persevered through the tedious job in order to complete things his way. In a memorable incident in 2022, Stewart decided to take matters into his own hands and fix the potholes beside his London home.

on a video Stewart shared on Instagram on March 12, 2022, the musician can be seen working to patch potholes on a neighboring road while wearing a tracksuit and a bright green safety vest.

Stewart remarked in the video, "I'm fixing the street where I live because no one can be bothered to do it."

Stewart claims that a road near his home in Harlow, Essex County, England, has numerous deep potholes that are harming automobiles traveling past.

He said, "This is the condition of the road close to where I live in Harlow, and it's been like this for centuries.

"People are wrecking their vehicles. There was an ambulance with a flat tire the other day. My Ferrari just cannot get through here.

More than 90,000 people have liked and commented on Stewart's article. The 77-year-old rock star's followers praised him for forgoing the preparations for his next tour in favor of working out and filling potholes with cement.

"Superb Sir Rod Stewart." I am aware that you are a product of the "do it yourself" generation. "Good work!" a supporter said.

"Sir Rod, you are just brilliant... With your Celtic attire on, you perform well. Continue filling. I wish you luck. Glasgow heaven," a another person said.

Even the on-screen Joan Collins made light of the situation, saying, "Dear nephew - wonderful work! Can you work on our road in the south of France for me?

Fortunately, the local authorities recognized Stewart's hard work and appreciation and attended to his needs following.

The Essex County Council continued the task Stewart had started when he decided to patch the potholes by himself, the BBC reports.

The council sent a statement saying, "We can confirm that this micro-surfacing work was previously intended to take place prior to any enquiry received, as part of our planned programme of work for this year. "Last week, the project was finished."

In order to reassure Stewart and the other users of the road that it would be a long-lasting solution, the local council also disclosed that the road in Harlow, Essex County, had already been finished, including the paving, cleaning, and repair of the road's drainage.

In fact, the "The Killing of Georgie (Part I and II)" hitmaker has been asked by the Essex County Council to spend a day with them to "see how we go about repairing the carriageway."

The council informed the publication, "We would be happy for Sir Rod Stewart to join one of our road-patching gangs for a day."

It is unknown at this time if Stewart accepted the invitation to join the shoveling crew that was helping to repair further roads in Essex County.

Stewart can now drive his Ferrari without worrying about a flat tire because the road has already been fixed. The ability of emergency services like ambulances to save lives would then continue. Certainly, taking action on your own may have a significant influence.
