Homeless Teen Makes 4.3 GPA, Becomes Valedictorian, And Gets More Than $3 Million In Scholarships(video)

Tupac Mosley, the valedictorian of his high school in Memphis, Tennessee, has much more to be happy about than just his recent high school graduation. The teen has received college scholarships worth more than $3 million.

The fact that his family has experienced financial hardship since his father's passing in 2017 and that they lost their house earlier this year makes his top-of-the-class standing and the scholarships all the more noteworthy.

Tupac claimed that having to sleep on hotel room floors was the lowest point of his life, yet he persisted in working hard in school. He continues to be appreciative of his supporters and their contribution to his achievement.

"I might not be in this position now if it weren't for my friends and family, instructors, and counselors who kept me going through it all. They inspired me to keep going and never give up. It is extremely fulfilling to be able to quantify my labor. It's a wonderful sensation. Mosley spoke to the BBC.

He acknowledged the school's headmaster and paid respect to the leader of the nonprofit and campground, For the Kingdom, which gave his family a place to stay during graduation during his address. He claims that after learning of the family's homelessness, the director allowed them to stay there so they could gather the money they needed to find a new place to live.

"I've been a guidance counselor for 11 years, and he's the first student I saw get such an overwhelming response," said Lee-anne Cox, Mosley's guidance counsellor. He is tremendously smart and brilliant by nature, but his persistence was the key.

Although Tupac currently lives on his own, he intends to remain close to the family when he starts school in the autumn. He's taken Tennessee State University up on its offer to enroll him in its electrical engineering program.

"I have an amazing support system here," he declared. They have assisted me in achieving this, therefore I will stay in this area near them.
