The sheer beauty and variety of colors in the world of birds is one of the
things that attracts many of us to it.
Many birds' endless color combinations and tints may be unexpectedly
lovely. One bird easily carries the moniker "sheer beauty" thanks to its
magnificent electric blue and orange feathers.
GET TO KNOW THE RUFF-BELLIED NILTAVA
This species' males have a vibrant blue body and an incandescent orange
belly. While females often have a neck patch of white and a drab brown
color.
This bird is also known as the blue-and-orange niltava and the
black-and-orange niltava. Brian Hodgson first provided a detailed
description of it in 1837.
The range of this bird begins in Pakistan and extends across Pakistan, the
Himalayas, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos.
Rufous-bellied Niltavas prefer to dwell in the dense undergrowth of
tropical or humid temperate woods where they may find fruit or insects to
eat.
The male of the species' lustrous blue plumage is assumed to be a
combination of dark melanin pigment and light dispersion. A loud metallic
whistle has been characterized as their cry.
Similar to how we perceive the sky above, when sunlight strikes his upper
blue feathers, it scatters, leaving this shade of blue.
Between May and July is breeding season, during which a cup-shaped nest is
constructed. The hen produces three to four eggs, and they take around 14
days to hatch. After around 14 days, chicks are completely grown.
The size of its distribution means that this species is not currently in
danger.
