The birth of a child fills a family with an inexplicable delight. Most
parents embrace their children and help them achieve their goals in life,
regardless of how they seem. This does not, however, protect the youngster
from the difficulties of life.
This is what occurred to Supatra Sasuphan, also known as Natty, a child
whose medical condition earned her the title of "world's hairiest girl." A
woman called Sompon and her husband Samrerng were overjoyed to receive Natty
on August 5, 1999, but the doctor told them immediately after she was born
that "she had lots of hair," according to a June 2019 CGRN story.
Sompon first assumed everything was normal, but she was "shocked that she
had so much hair" when she got a chance to have a look at the infant in the
incubator.
Natty's situation was unique as her hair grew over nearly every part of her
body, with the exception of her mucous membranes, palms, and soles of her
feet. According to the publication, the girl suffers from a rare congenital
skin ailment known as Ambras syndrome.
There have only been 50 documented examples of the aforementioned medical
disease since the Middle Ages.
Although Ambras syndrome has been studied over the years, medical
professionals think that a spontaneous mutation in a person's DNA sequence
is the origin of this disorder.
Natty first found it difficult to interact with other students at school,
but according to her teacher, Kuljira Posaeng, she was able to fit in. This
was reported in a February 2012 Today story.
Natty was also a very bright student who enjoyed acting, dancing, and
singing. Other professors called her "very lively."
The youngster stated during the interview that she wanted to become a
doctor so that she could treat her mother, father, and other family members
as well as help those who are ill or injured. Unfortunately, she was teased
and even called names by others because of her unusual physical
features.
According to Daily Mail, she stated, "There were a few people who used to
tease me and call me monkey face, but they don't do it anymore."
Natty told Today that she was happy with her appearance and her medical
condition, saying, "It's just the way I am." I never give it a second
thought.
Natty felt unique when she was crowned the "hairiest teenager" in the world
by Guinness World Records in 2010.
"My hair makes me unique. As she accepted the medal, she said, "This is the
happiest day of my life."
In 2018, Natty opted to shave her face for the first time ever after
marrying the "love of her life," less than ten years after she gained
notoriety and broke the world record. Natty has been married to her nameless
spouse, according to a Daily Mail article from that period, and she
frequently shares pictures of them on social media.
The publication cited a caption she wrote in one of her posts, which said,
"You're not just my first love, you're the love of my life."
