Donkey Smiles From Ear To Ear After Being Rescued

Irish flood rescue donkey looks to be grinning as it is pulled to safety.

A rowing club member in Ireland saved a donkey that was caught in floodwater last Sunday, and the animal is already recuperating. According to fsrn, the woman posted a request for assistance on her Facebook page for Animal Heaven Animal Rescue (AHAR).

On Saturday night, the horse broke out from its stable in Killorglin, County Kerry, when heavy weather destroyed the fence.

The following morning, after a neighboring river exceeded its banks, the donkey was discovered abandoned in a field, surrounded by deep floodwater.

When Killorglin Rowing Club member Mike Fleming learned of the situation, he and a group of animal shelter volunteers were able to wrap a rope and buoyancy aid around the donkey and pull him to shore.

The donkey, which has been given the name Mike in honor of his hero, is recuperating at the animal shelter while the stable is being fixed, according to a representative for Animal Heaven Animal Rescue.

He is now wrapped in towels and eating heated mashed potatoes, all warm and cozy, and our doctor has examined him and started him on medication to avoid pneumonia, according to Suzanne Gibbons, founder of the sanctuary.

Although he has a minor amount of fluid in one lung, our veterinarian predicted a full recovery.

I really appreciate everyone who supports animals in need.

I adore donkeys. He's genuinely grinning...
