Since the 1970s, Elton John, popularly referred to as "Rocket Man," has
been sweeping the music world. Along with his buddy and partner Bernie
Taupin, the singer, songwriter, and pianist took home the 2020 Academy Award
for Best Original song. One of the most productive songwriting
collaborations in music history is between the two of them. John was excited
about the occasion, but it was made much more memorable by the knowledge
that his dear family was home to see the ceremony.
Elton John has been a fund-raiser and advocate for the battle against HIV
and AIDS since the late 1980s. He has set a good example for his kids by
supporting the Elton John AIDS Foundation and teaching them to be generous
as well. A year after founding his organization, John began hosting the
Foundation Academy Awards Party every year in 1993.
Zachary and Elijah, the iconic singer-songwriter's kids, were overjoyed to
witness their father receive an Academy Award at the 2020 Oscars event. The
Oscar for Best Original Song went to Elton John and his longtime partner
Bernie Taupin for their song "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again" from the film
"Rocketman," which is based on John's actual life. Elton John said in his
victory speech that he was sending his love to his boys in Australia, where
they were watching the ceremony.
Although John and his spouse, David Furnish, were first acquainted in 1993,
they were wed in 2014. They were also among the first couple in the UK to
form a civil partnership. The two boys they had with Elton, who is a

After the Oscars, Elton John recorded a video message for his two boys, and
he later said in a backstage interview that they were overjoyed by his
victory:
"They are ecstatic. They are really very dear to me. They adore their
father. The Golden Globes had them giddy, but this one is...An award is an
award, you know. However, as I often say, the most important thing in my
life is that I have a fantastic spouse, lovely kids, a wonderful family,
excellent friends, and good health. That is the most crucial factor.
But in addition to gushing about his boys, Elton John also thanked fellow
winner and close friend Bernie Taupin. He acknowledged in the backstage
interview that his collaboration was the reason for his success.
I wouldn't be here if it weren't for him. He starts the procedure. After
giving me the lyrics, I continue. I mean, without the lyrics, who am I? In
tribute to Taupin, he remarked, "This is the man who started the journey,
and we are still together after 53 years." "I'm so thrilled for him because
I love him so much."
In response, Taupin also had some poignant things to say:
"Love, trust, and having faith in the person you are working with are the
fundamental themes of the entire film. It's similar to a marriage, really.
And being unique, leading unique lifestyles, and always reuniting for the
music are some of the elements that contribute to its success. Since the
beginning of our relationship, music has been a part of our veins."
Elton John is committed to instilling in his kids an attitude of
generosity. The father of two talked candidly about how he and Furnish
instill in their boys a sense of financial responsibility and worth.
"They receive £3 in pocket money, of which £1 is set aside for charity, £1
for savings, and £1 for shopping. They also receive three coins, which they
place in different jars. And they have to put forth some effort to get
it—help in the kitchen and garden," Elton said. "They've got to learn the
value of doing something and earning something for themselves."
Despite Elton John's reported $500 million net worth, the couple tries
their best to provide a somewhat regular life for their boys.
"They live a very local life in Old Windsor, they go round their mates'
houses, it's not a showbiz life as such," stated Elton John. They're not
stranded outside a mansion's gates. When I'm at home on Saturdays, we go to
the movies, Waterstones, and Pizza Hut together. I've never withdrawn myself
or concealed myself. I'm running to school.
One of John's proudest achievements to date is being a father, but the
singer never intended to become a parent.
"If you'd had said to me ten years ago I'd be sitting on your show married
to the man I love and have two beautiful children, I would have said you put
acid in my drink," he told Ellen DeGeneres. "However, obstacles in life
arise, and having these two kids at a time when I never imagined having kids
is something I never expected." The best thing in our lives is them. We
can't express enough how much we adore these boys. They truly are
incredible."
While Elton John and Furnish don't confine their children to a house, they
do keep them out of the public eye. Nevertheless, the performer posted a
unique picture of himself, his children, and pop star Lady Gaga, who serves
as the boys' godmother.
The quad was at the March 27, 2022, Elton John AIDS Foundation's 30th
Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party. Meanwhile, due to a schedule issue with
his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour, Elton John was unable to attend the
ceremony.
On March 28, 2022, he did, however, share a photo of the partying quad on
Instagram in an attempt to both convey his love and vent his regret.
"I'm so sorry not to be able to see these family photos from tonight's
#EJAFOscars with @DavidFurnish, @LadyGaga, and the boys, but I'm sending my
love to everyone for making @EJAF possible." It is really important to us!
The image was captioned by Elton John.
The lads were pleased to be there, and fans adored the picture of the small
family posing together for a picture.
"The boys are so beautiful 👏," one of the fans said.
Another admirer concurred and wrote:
"What gorgeous boys!"
"The boys are very cute. 😭," said a different admirer.
The boys' cuteness was likewise deemed by some enthusiasts.
"Very Lovely ❤️❤️,” a comment was made.
Another individual had similar thoughts and wrote:
"Very attractive lads! ❤️.
Someone else was enamored with Lady Gaga and the family:
"What a gorgeous family! 😍😍 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ and Gaga is amazing!
Many of Elton John's admirers also mentioned how mature the lads
were.
Someone posted, "They are so big!" and someone else responded,
"Oh, they're not exactly like little toddlers as I recall."
"The boys are becoming so tall, my goodness. Such charming little
gentlemen. Another admirer commented, "Mother Gaga and David are both really
gorgeous.
